-Creative Zen Vision M (Has minor playcount bugs in Zenses 0.2)

    -Memorex 8565

    -Samsung YP, Q1, T10

    -Meizu M6

    -Meizu SL

    Mixed success:

    -Cowon D2 in MTP mode

    Unsupported:

Any player that is MSC enabled, or a player that doesn't save playcounts.

Note that some MSC players, when put into MTP mode, will start working correctly with Zenses (such as the Cowon +2), though success has varied.

If a player needs to be moved, added, removed, or corrected, please send me a message on Last.fm (my username is the same here as it is there), or leave a message below.

Thanks for that, I should add though all the media players that work with Zenses 0.2 should also work with Zenses2, as they both use the same backend MTP library + SDK. Though Zenses2 does utilise the latest release (WMP 11), which may cause issues with older players.

(Tested with Zenses 2.0.4b2) I have a Philips Gogear Ariaz 16 Gb (Model SA1ARA16K/02) and in MTP mode it recognizes played tracks and Like other players, it takes a lot to read the whole library (it's 16 GB and almost full). There's just a problem: as it was taking a lot to download the whole tracklist, i killed the app because It gave no response. Then I opened it again and I found it had found over 700+ unscrobbled tracks. Many of these had wrong counter (325649 times!) where it had to be 0. Other songs were ok, with a counter of 1 or 2, and i managed to scrobble them correctly.

I have also another question: how can I access the Git repository? When i go to the page (http://github.com/sixones/zenses) I'm being redirected on the Github home page. Do I need some special permission? I subscribed to Github with the nickname "random000". I also went to your profile on Github but I didn't find any "zenses" project.

I would really like to read the source code and contribute to the project.

Thanks sixones for your work, I really appreciate it!

RaNDoM: Your case is very interesting. I'd have to see more details - there may a bug in the library that reads from MTP, or the device is not conforming to the standard. Can you please run the debugger tool and then send us the c:/temp/zenses.log file ? Maybe it will make some sense...

Zenses2 is working with Sony NWZ-A826 but i've got one bug - I haven't got a name of player (not a firm name) on a connected device list - only some square font.

I've noticed that bug before, Zenses just retrieves the devices nickname do you have one set or does it contain any non-alphanumeric characters? Hopefully it will just be an issue with the encoding or that some devices that have a nickname assigned to them, we will look into it though!

Sony NWZ-A826 has been added. Thanks.

Also, added a new "Mixed success" section, due to a fairly recent post.

It's only a non-alphanumeric character. But if you know about this problem so it's ok , i'll be waiting only for some updates.

Tested my Sony Walkman NWZ-X1060 with Zenses 2.0.4b2 and everything worked perfectly straight away.

    Creative X-Fi works with version 2.0.4b2 :)

    Both players added. Thanks.

My Archos5 is working....even though it didn't work with zenses original which is strange! Zenses 2 is soooooooooo slow though but keep up the good work.

Were working on the performance issues, it should be alot faster than the original Zenses though.

Zenses2 also uses the newer Windows API's for portable device communication, so more devices are compatible (but yet others that used to work in the original Zenses just dont work).

Zenses2 works with my Sony WALKMAN NWZ-E443, but i have similar problem like Mathew with device name. It's not a problem for me, though :>

I uploaded the image if you want to look. http://f.imagehost.org/0281/zenses.jpg

My Cowon S9 isn't even found by Zenses. He's searcing for devices for about half an hour and he has found still nothing... this isn't normal, is it? I hope that I will may be able to use Zenses in future..

Is your device working with MTP or does it have MTP mode enabled? You can also try making sure Windows Media Player and any other application that could communicate with MTP devices is closed. Or if you have never used Windows Media Player, try opening it before Zenses and accepting the license agreements so everything sets up.

I can see we must use MTP device to scrobble with Zenses. I assume that about half of Zen products are MSC only devices. Some people here have MSC only players and also they can’t change them to MTP mode. I want to know which Zen we should buy if I want to use Zenses, and found this entry.

“List of Creative MTP and MSC Players” http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=83635

By the way, I have two types of players and have been using old Zenses for a few years. And I start using Zenses2 since last week. It works well with my iriver Clix2 , iriver E50.
